This basic was originally developed for the MZ computer series from Sharp, sold mostly in Japan and Europe. A few small LCD machines from this line may have been sold in the United States. An English-language manual might be available from a British source, but it might not cover enhancements added to the language when it was ported to the Famicom.

It is also my understanding that some early American NES units had the expansion port on the main board, but the plastic case covered it.

Might it be better to use a public domain basic?
