Seminar Leaders: Sheila Doshi and Bryant Chou
Write down issue areas, interests, project ideas, technologies, etc.. that interest us. What can we contribute?
Formed groups of 2-3 and discussed.
Came together as a group to each briefly share our ideas.
Ideas:
Mobile Phone technology
Renewable Energy
Health Care
Sanitation
Derek informed us about some current events around the world and in India.
Presentations:
Sheila- Dharavi presentation. Asia's largest slum, and a very thriving economy
Bryant- Research and Development for Qualcomm. Talked about many innovative prototypes like the sewing machine phone charger and voice recognition contact list for mobile phones
We talked about other technologies that we want to advocate.
Derek suggested some topics that are posted on the Wiki to use for start up points for future projects.
Assignment for Fourth Week: Add our ideas and make an inventory if our ongoing ideas and interests. Keep up with researching interesting articles and post them on the wiki.
The goal of the class may not involve actually developing an actual technology, but maybe a really good idea for a prototype and even an information research to help future endeavors.
A business plan possibly submitted for the 50K competition on campus could be used in lieu for a project.
Post an interest page to our name on the wiki. Create a page in your name that has interests/ideas for projects. Find @ least one article that connects to these interests and post it.
