Hi I am a 4th year in Sixth college and my major is international studies- linguistics and sociology, and also minoring in visual arts (studio). I am originally from Hong Kong but I have been living in San Diego for 7 years. I am currently living in the International House for a second time this year on campus and it was what originally sparked my interest in all things international. I was studying in London last year for 6 months and travelled a lot around Europe. Although Europe is a strong Western power, poverty could still be seen everywhere. The class INTL 101 introduced me to the world of poverty and social inequality and Western domination, etc. and since then I have been taking some sociology classes that I find very interesting. This class caught my attention because instead of simply learning about the depressing facts that people are suffering, I could actually maybe create something that could help out their lives. I am not sure how exactly I can do it so I guess we will find out.
